Dancing (fancy)

By combining the expertise of Prosxima Dance Company, the academic resources of the universities, and the passion of the participants, this workshop series can be a powerful platform for promoting inclusion and fostering a deeper understanding of dance as a universal language.

The workshops will be led by the choreographer with the participation of the dancers of Prosxima Dance Company, will be free of charge and aim to bring together University students and dancers with and without disabilty with the concepts of inclusion and disability through the art of dance. 

The first workshops have already taken place with great success at the University of Patras Sports Center co-organized by the M.Sc in Public Health and the Laboratory of Speech and Drama of the Department of Theatre Studies of the University of Patras. In particular, a series of dance workshops for people with and without disabilities, based on the choreographic work Dancing (fancy) and the working method used during the creative process, which has been presented on Monday, 2nd December 2024, during the 8th Conference entitled “Public Health, Art and Solidarity” at the Conference and Cultural Centre of the University of Patras 

Next stop the Faculty of Theatre Studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dancing (fancy) will be performed on the 8th January 2025 at the Aula room, co-organised by the Postgraduate Programme "Greek and World Theatre, Dramaturgy, Performance, Education". A series of workshops will follow during the spring semester.

Action implemented with the support John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation in the framework of "Points of Support", a co-funded programme by 10 public benefit foundations.
