Latent

Λανθάνον

Latent is an intergenerational choreographic work featuring four dancers with and without sensory disabilities.

The work explores that which exists but is not revealed, that which escapes but remains undisclosed. Drawing from diverse approaches in art and psychoanalysis, the work reimagines the non-visible as a constant state of anticipation and transformation.

Inspired by Michelangelo’s "unfinished" sculptures, the concept of non-finito runs the entire work while the costumes of Eleftheria Arapoglou invite us on a constant dialogue between what is seen and what remains hidden.

The choreographic work Latent explores the hidden and the unrevealed The latent, the trapped, and the escaping elements compose a study of the human condition in a constant state of transformation.

The fusion of disparate elements creates an uncanny and ethereal atmosphere. The integration of Sign Language expands the choreographer’s research into the boundaries of communication and accessibility.

It is a deep dive into the human psyche, where the "latent" struggles to find expression through gaps cracks and pauses.
